Important Disclosures

Capital at Risk

Using DoronX involves real financial risk. Cryptocurrency values can fall to zero. DeFi protocol yields are variable and not guaranteed. You should only invest what you can afford to lose entirely. DoronX does not guarantee profits or protect against losses.

These disclosures are provided to help you understand the risks associated with using DoronX's financial services. This document is not exhaustive — financial activities carry inherent risks that cannot all be predicted or described in full.

By using DoronX you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept these risk disclosures, and that you are making your own independent financial decisions.

High Risk

Crypto Trading

Extreme price volatility. Assets can lose 80%+ of value rapidly. Not suitable for risk-averse users.

Medium Risk

Vault (AAVE v3)

Variable yield, smart contract exposure, and stablecoin depeg risk. Moderate risk profile.

Lower Risk

MoMo Transfers

Payment processing risk is low but not zero. Network outages and operator failures can occur.

02 — Cryptocurrency Risk

Cryptocurrency Risks

Cryptocurrency assets are highly speculative and volatile. Trading them carries substantial risks including but not limited to:

  • Extreme price volatility: Crypto asset prices can fluctuate by 20–80% or more within hours. There is no price floor — an asset's value can fall to zero.
  • Transaction irreversibility: Blockchain transactions are final. Sending crypto to a wrong address, wrong network, or after a scam cannot be reversed by DoronX or anyone else.
  • Network risk: Blockchain networks can experience congestion, forks, 51% attacks, or protocol-level failures outside DoronX's control.
  • Liquidity risk: During periods of high volatility, it may be difficult to buy or sell crypto at expected prices. Spreads can widen significantly.
  • Regulatory risk: Governments may restrict, ban, or heavily regulate cryptocurrency in your jurisdiction at any time, potentially making your holdings illiquid or worthless.
  • Scam & phishing risk: The crypto ecosystem is target-rich for scammers. DoronX will never ask for your private keys, seed phrases, or passwords. Always verify you are on the official app.
Network Selection Warning

Always double-check that you are sending or receiving on the correct network (BEP20, ERC20, TRC20, Solana, or BTC). Sending tokens on the wrong network will result in permanent, unrecoverable loss of funds.

03 — DeFi & Vault Risk

DeFi Protocol & Vault Risks

The DoronX Vault integrates with AAVE v3 on Polygon to generate yield on USDC deposits. While AAVE is one of the most established DeFi protocols, using it carries significant risks:

  • Smart contract risk: AAVE v3 and Polygon smart contracts, like all blockchain code, may contain bugs or vulnerabilities that could result in partial or total loss of deposited funds, even after audits.
  • Variable yield: APY rates displayed in the app are indicative and change in real time based on supply and demand. Displayed rates are not guaranteed and may fall to near zero.
  • Stablecoin depeg risk: USDC is a stablecoin designed to maintain a $1.00 peg. In extreme market conditions, stablecoins have depegged, causing losses. DoronX does not guarantee USDC's peg.
  • Polygon network risk: Validator failures, governance attacks, or bridge failures on the Polygon network could affect your deposited funds.
  • Withdrawal delay: Under extreme market conditions, liquidity in AAVE pools may be reduced, temporarily preventing or delaying withdrawals.
Vault APY Disclosure

The APY shown in your Vault dashboard reflects current protocol rates net of DoronX's management fee. This rate can change at any time. Historical returns do not predict future performance.

04 — Market Risk

Market & Exchange Rate Risk

All financial transactions on DoronX are subject to market risk, including:

Risk type Description Risk level
Crypto price volatility Rapid and extreme price swings in BTC, USDT, and DORX High
GHS/USD exchange rate Currency fluctuations affecting GHS-denominated values Medium
Rate slippage Price at confirmation may differ from quoted price Medium
Spread risk Buy/sell spread may widen during volatility Medium
MoMo float risk Mobile money operator liquidity constraints Low

DoronX uses live market rates for all trades. The rate you see at the moment of viewing may differ from the rate at the time your transaction is processed. The final rate is shown at confirmation and is binding once you confirm.

05 — Operational Risk

Platform & Operational Risks

  • Service availability: DoronX aims for maximum uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance may affect service availability.
  • Transaction delays: On-chain transactions depend on blockchain confirmation times outside our control. During high network congestion, confirmation may take significantly longer than usual.
  • Security incidents: Despite robust security measures, no platform is immune to security incidents. A successful attack could affect your funds or personal data.
  • Device risk: If your device is compromised (malware, rooted), attackers may gain access to your DoronX account. Use only trusted devices and keep your OS updated.
  • Human error: Entering wrong amounts, wrong addresses, or confirming unintended transactions. Always review transaction details carefully before confirming.
06 — Regulatory Risk

Regulatory & Legal Risk

Evolving Regulatory Landscape

Cryptocurrency regulation is rapidly evolving worldwide. New laws or regulatory actions could restrict or prohibit the use of some or all DoronX services in your jurisdiction at any time, potentially without advance notice.

  • Jurisdictional restrictions: Certain features may not be available in your country due to local laws. It is your responsibility to ensure you are using DoronX in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Tax obligations: Cryptocurrency transactions may be subject to capital gains tax, income tax, or other taxes in your jurisdiction. DoronX does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional.
  • KYC/AML requirements: Regulatory changes may require us to implement additional identity verification at any time, which could restrict your access pending verification.
  • Banking relationships: Changes in our banking relationships with Mobile Money operators or banking partners could affect certain deposit or withdrawal methods.
07 — Third-Party Risk

08 — Virtual Card Risk

USD Virtual Card Disclosures

  • Issuer risk: Virtual cards are issued through Maplerad's card programme. Changes to their programme, banking relationships, or regulatory status may affect card availability.
  • Merchant acceptance: Not all merchants accept virtual cards. Some merchants may block virtual or prepaid cards by policy.
  • Currency conversion: Transactions in currencies other than USD will be converted at the then-current exchange rate plus any applicable conversion fee.
  • Card security: You are responsible for keeping your card details secure. Unauthorised transactions should be reported immediately for dispute resolution.
  • Fund availability: Card funds are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance. In the event of Maplerad's insolvency, recovery of funds may be uncertain.
